Likeminds
Likeminds is een grootstedelijke ontwikkelplek voor meerstemmige theatermakers uit verschillende disciplines. Hierbij is artistieke diversiteit het uitgangspunt. De grote gemene deler van makers en voorstellingen is eigenzinnig, fluïde, divers, activistisch, rafelig en kwetsbaar.
Likeminds heeft een theater met studio’s in Amsterdam Noord. In het gebouw werken de makers van Likeminds aan hun producties en worden voorstellingen getoond. Maar het gebouw wordt ook gebruikt door verschillende andere theatermakers en verschillende organisaties hebben er hun kantoor zoals TENTcircustheater, Cinedans, Sexyland en EnterFestival.
Likeminds ontvangt structurele subsidie van de Gemeente Amsterdam.
Likeminds’ FACTORY is ons eigen ontwikkelingsjaar, waarbij jongeren hun talenten als theatermaker kunnen ontwikkelen. Uitgangspunt is: leren door te doen. Het traject is op maat gesneden, naar de dromen en talenten van het individu. Jongeren krijgen workshops in allerlei disciplines (tekst, spel, regie, dramaturgie, productie) en maken hun eigen voorstellingen. Ze worden begeleid door professionele podiumkunstenaars, voortkomend uit de ‘oude garde’ van Likeminds of uit ons landelijke netwerk. Er is ruimte voor vallen en hulp bij opstaan.

DE WERKPLAATS biedt jong professionele theatermakers een platform om een eigen artistieke signatuur te ontwikkelen. Of de makers nu van de kunstvakopleidingen komen of een autodidacte route hebben gevolgd, het gaat om de eigenheid van de individuele kunstenaar. Uitgangspunt is: artistieke diversiteit. De voorstellingen die in dit platform worden geproduceerd vormen een bont palet. Elk product is anders. De grote gemene deler is het ‘grootstedelijk realisme’, eigenzinnig, tegendraads, gelaagd, rafelig, en direct.

Likeminds werkt oa. samen met Via Rudolphi, Via Zuid, NTGent, Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland, Fringe Festival, Huis Salomon.
Likeminds is onderdeel van NAPKRoadies en ontwikkelingsnetwerk Oproer ( Via Zuid, Makershuis Alkmaar, Werkplaats Walhalla, De Generator, Xplore The North, Podium Bloos)

Likeminds is a network of diverse, young, urban artists that give a voice to contemporary city culture. In combining dramaturgy, performances and community enrichment we aim to be a mirror of The Great City. Diverse, dynamic, inspiring and unique, Likeminds is a platform to develop young talent. Likeminds has been in existence for more than twenty years and in this period we have nurtured dozens of young talents into professional theatre makers, musicians and visual artists.
Likeminds ‘werkplaats’ let young-professional theatre-makers create productions out of their own personal engagements. The City is their source of inspiration in structure and content. Their focus is topical: social interaction, violence, diversity, sex and drugs. Likeminds creators take these themes and create work that combines various art forms, genres, disciplines, and styles. This mix is essential.
For Likeminds creators the city is a source of narrative, they don’t only draw from personal experience. They look for inspiration in The City by talking to it’s inhabitants and engaging them in their creative process. Using the stories they source to tell a rich and varied story of The City, Likeminds work is renowned for being both for The City and of The City.
Likeminds is door de Belastingdienst aangewezen als culturele Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI).
